About RIVVOR
RIVVOR is a next-generation wireless systems company based in Silicon Valley, with engineering hubs in Montréal, Canada, and Tbilisi, Georgia. We are building ultra-high-speed wireless infrastructure using advanced mmWave and RF technologies—from Earth to orbit and beyond.
Founded by seasoned engineers from AMD and top-tier research labs, our team blends semiconductor execution, system design, and physics-driven innovation. We partner with leading universities and national labs to solve deep technical challenges in wireless communication, data movement, and infrastructure design.
If you're excited by elegant systems, complex architecture, and creating the blueprint for something truly groundbreaking, this is your moment.
About the Role:
As Senior/Lead Embedded Firmware Engineer, you’ll develop and optimize embedded firmware for real-time control of advanced mmWave wireless systems. You’ll implement fast protocol stacks, beamforming control loops, and efficient drivers that run close to hardware. This is a mission-critical role driving hardware-software integration across a multi-domain system.
What You’ll Do:
Develop embedded firmware for mmWave wireless link control and management
Implement real-time protocol stacks, beamforming control, and link adaptation logic
Work cross-functionally with hardware, RF, and digital engineers
Optimize for ultra-low-latency, high throughput, and power efficiency
Debug bring-up issues and support system validation and field deployments
Develop hardware abstraction layers and device drivers for custom platforms
Profile and tune firmware for tight memory, thermal, and power budgets
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years of embedded C/C++ development (ARM, RISC-V, or equivalent)
Experience with real-time systems, RTOS, and low-latency applications
Proficient in SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, Ethernet, and similar interfaces
Skilled in firmware debugging and use of lab tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, GDB)
Understanding of wireless protocols, signal chains, or high-speed comms
Strong system-level thinking and hardware-software debug capability.
Bonus: Experience with beamforming, DSP, mmWave systems
Bonus: Familiarity with Zynq, MicroBlaze, or wireless SoCs
Bonus: RTOS-based wireless firmware, communication stacks, or physical-layer DSP
Tech Stack:
C/C++, ARM/RISC-V, RTOS, Linux, Git, CI/CD, GDB, logic analyzer, oscilloscope, SPI/I2C/UART, wireless protocol stacks
Why Join Us:
Build embedded systems that power the world’s fastest wireless links
$100K base salary + equity + milestone-based bonuses
Collaborate with elite teams in RF, ASIC, and systems engineering
Shape the firmware architecture at the core of RIVVOR’s wireless IP
Flexible work hours, health insurance, relocation support, wellness stipend, team offsites.
